CosmoCaixa Science Museum – Barcelona

An international gathering bringing together foundations and research centres to discuss the challenges and opportunities of philanthropy-driven research.

On 26 and 27 March, the Research Forum: Philanthropy and Research Centres: Models, Challenges and Opportunities will take place in Barcelona, organised by Philea in collaboration with the ”la Caixa” Foundation. The event will bring together representatives from foundations, research centres and philanthropic organisations from across Europe to exchange experiences and reflect on the role of philanthropy in driving scientific research.

Over the course of two days, participants will discuss funding models, governance, attracting talent and strategies to foster scientific excellence and maximise the social impact of research. The programme will include presentations, round-table discussions and opportunities for dialogue aimed at strengthening collaboration between institutions and exploring new ways of supporting science through philanthropy.

The CaixaResearch Institute will take part in various sessions at the forum, sharing its vision for the creation of a new research centre specialising in immunology and its role within the European scientific and philanthropic ecosystem.
