CaixaResearch Institute hosts the meeting of CERCA centre directors and managers
Last Friday, CaixaResearch Institute hosted the meeting of directors and managers of CERCA (Centres de Recerca de Catalunya), a gathering that brought together representatives from research centres across Catalonia to address some of the main challenges and opportunities facing the scientific system
The session included the participation of Núria Montserrat, Minister for Research and Universities of the Government of Catalonia, as well as institutional representatives from the Government and the CERCA Institution. The meeting provided a space for discussion and reflection on the present and future of research, knowledge transfer, and the role of research centres in generating scientific, economic and social impact.
Throughout the day, participants shared progress and initiatives aimed at strengthening Catalonia’s research and innovation ecosystem, with particular attention to knowledge valorisation, collaboration with industry, and the promotion of new opportunities to bring research results closer to society.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to present our scientific project and our commitment to advancing knowledge in immunology, a discipline that is key to understanding and addressing some of today’s major health challenges.Attendees were able to learn first-hand about our vision, our research lines, and our commitment to excellent, collaborative and impact-driven science.
The day concluded with a tour of our facilities, where participants were able to gain a closer view of the centre and continue exchanging ideas with colleagues from across the network.
For us, it was a pleasure to open our doors to the CERCA community and to share this space for dialogue with organisations that help position Catalonia among Europe’s most dynamic scientific ecosystems.
