Research Ethics & Regulation Officer
Roberto Gómez García holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Universitat de Barcelona, with a specialisation in Medicinal Chemistry. As a researcher he built a solid grounding in biochemical research and first encountered the ethical and regulatory aspects of scientific activity. He later moved into research management, joining the Pre-Award area at ISGlobal, where for more than three years he supported the setting up of research projects to secure competitive funding. This experience allowed him to gain extensive knowledge in the administrative and compliance processes linked to research, laying the foundations for his current specialisation in ethics and research regulation. At the CaixaResearch Institute, Roberto works as Research Ethics & Regulation Officer, supporting the ethical and regulatory aspects of the Institute's research activities. He manages notifications and communications with the competent authorities, monitors compliance with the applicable regulations, ensures the traceability of regulatory documentation and develops internal procedures that guarantee ethical and regulatory requirements.
