Biography
With a PhD in Biomedicine specialising in Immunology, and a master’s degree in Pharmaceutical and Biotechnological Industry, Laia Traveset has built her career at the intersection of biomedical research, innovation and knowledge transfer. After an initial stage as a researcher at Universitat Pompeu Fabra, she led the Innovation Unit at IDIBELL. Throughout her career, she has promoted and managed knowledge transfer projects, intellectual property strategies, strategic collaborations between academia and industry, as well as new business initiatives based on academic research. At the CaixaResearch Institute, she heads the Knowledge Transfer area, where she promotes initiatives aimed at bringing science closer to society by maximising the impact of immunology research through the protection, development and application of scientific discoveries with the potential to generate clinical and social impact.
