Biography
With over 22 years of experience in laboratory operations at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in Barcelona, Alicia Raya has developed extensive expertise in supporting molecular biology and biotechnology research environments. Her background includes implementing biosafety procedures, ensuring regulatory and ethical compliance, managing laboratory infrastructure and inventory, and contributing to multidisciplinary research projects. She has also delivered training on biosafety standards and laboratory protocols, helping to maintain safe, efficient and well-organised research settings. At the CaixaResearch Institute, Alicia supports Lab Operations by preparing laboratories for new research projects and ensuring they are fully operational from the outset. She contributes to equipment installation and qualification, procurement and supply management, safety systems and the development of standard operating procedures, working closely with internal teams to facilitate smooth and secure project launches.
